Research methods and techniques to gather material for a media production (ESTINGS)

To make an E4 estings media production, there is a lot more included than you think. Firstly the most obvious material you must include is... bright colours and humour to the animation to appeal to the young adult target audience. Also you need to add an appealing, friendly backing sound (which can effectively make the animation more humorous). Furthermore you need to inlude the E4 estings logo to promote the competition. Lastly you must make the production 10 seconds long for it to be accepted. You can get entrys by going to the e4 estings website. You can also apply for your own by uploading your animation. If it gets voted enough your animation can be put into the e4 estings adverts. E4 estings website.... http://www.e4.com/estings/index.html, Old entry links... http://estings.e4.com/

Interactive media evaluation

For my interactive media unit, I found it interresting and enjoyable as i learnt knew things and ways to make games (e.g. flash software). I found the topic challenging at times (especially typing in the code to make the game functional). However I thought I did well with understanding and gaining knowledge of IMP elements as thats the part I got my highest grade in (merit). On the other hand I thought I didn't do aswell in creating my actual interactive media product, as I struggled with the software. In conclusion I believe I could of done better with this interactive media unit if I had possibly asked for more help.

Estings research (secondary and qauntatitive)

From this research i have found that the most popular type of animation would be a 2D drawing. Also I noticed every single animation didn't have a realistic storyline. Furthermore this inferrs that to make a good E4 estings people want to see funny animations with random storylines.

How to make thaumatropes

One way to make a Thaumatrope is to get opposite pictures e.g. a bird on one and a cage on the other side and then put a piece of string/elastic on each side. In conclusion spin the picture with the strings to give it an illusion e.g. a bird being in the cage.

One other way is to get opposite pictures (like the other direction) and instead of string you put a stick below the picture and then spin the stick to give the same type of illusion.

Radio evaluation

I found that my radio recording went well as it stuck to my original plan and was kept simple. Also I thought the humour was good because it was very ironic. However I believe it could of been a lot better if i had recorded in a quiet room because although recording in class gave it an affect of other people talking in the studio, there was to much sounds.
